Health Science Programs

Programs of Study

Dental Assisting

The Dental Assisting Program trains students in clinical and administrative tasks that can be used in dental offices, group practices and dental suppliers. An Associate in Applied Science as well as a certificate are available for the program taught on 快播视频 State’s Valley Street Campus.


Diagnostic Medical Sonography 

The comprehensive DMS program covers abdomen, small parts, obstetrics-gynecology and vascular sonography. It provides classroom learning, hands-on training and clinical externship. It leads to an Associate in Applied Science. There is also an Echocardiography Certificate Program for working sonographers. There is a competitive selection process for acceptance into the DMS Program and Echo Certificate Program. 


Emergency Medical Services 

The EMS program provides students with the theoretical and practical preparation to qualify for the entry-level EMS workforce. There are four levels of EMS training – Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced EMT and Paramedic.  Certificates and an Associate in Applied Science degree are available.


Medical Assistant Technology

The Medical Assistant Program is designed to prepare graduates for employment as skilled professionals. This certification leads students to employment opportunities in physicians’ offices, outpatient clinics, laboratories, ambulatory institutions, hospitals, nursing homes, minute clinics and urgent care facilities.


Medical Laboratory Technology 

Medical lab professionals provide service and research in rapidly-changing and dynamic healthcare delivery systems. The program is five semesters with training in hematology, blood bank, microbiology, serology/immunology, phlebotomy and other routine testing areas. Deadline for application is July 1 of the year the student will begin the program.


Nursing 

快播视频 State offers credentials for registered nursing and licensed practical nursing through a stackable credential Associate Degree in Nursing program. The full Registered Nursing program is five semesters total. After three successful semesters in the program, students will complete the Practical Nursing Certificate. Students can stop there or continue to finish the last two semesters to complete an Associate Degree in Registered Nursing. The Mobility Nursing Program is also offered to current licensed LPNs and paramedics desiring to become registered nurses. There is a competitive selection process for the program which includes course requirements, a minimum grade point average and ACT score requirements. Applications to the program are accepted twice per year.


Radiography 

The Radiography Program educates entry-level radiographers skilled in diagnostic imaging procedures. Students are trained in anatomy, patient positioning, radiographic equipment, radiation safety and patient care. Students will test for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon completion of the program. The deadline for applying to the Radiography Program is June 1 of the year the student begins the program.


Surgical Operating Room Technician 

In the Surgical Operating Room Technology Program, instructors cover sterile surgical techniques and current operating room technology. The program provides students with the fundamental knowledge and skills to function as part of the team of practitioners providing surgical care to patients.
